Stamping Tips

-To properly ink up a stamp, lay the ink pad on a hard surface and dab the stamp STRAIGHT up and down. Do NOT rock the wood block from side to side or you will get ink on the sides of the rubber image which will be transferred to your project.

-If you have a stamp that has been applied to the wood block crooked, put it in the microwave for 3 seconds, peel off the rubber image and re-apply. You can also do this if you have a stamp that needs to be trimmed closer.

-To get a good image with a background stamp try inking it up and leaving it on a hard surface ink side up. (I rub the entire stamp with the ink pad and then dab the ink pad all over as well to make sure it has good coverage). Take your piece of card stock and lay it over top of the background stamp. Use a piece of scrap paper over top of the card stock (if it is smaller then the background image) and rub all over very carefully so you don't move the card stock. This lets you get a great image from the centre of the background stamp without getting ink on your fingers. This is also a great way to use background stamps if you find your hands are too small to hold them.

-Plan ahead when using brads so that you don't see the prongs on the inside of your card. Poke them through your accent paper and spread them open, and then glue the paper to your card front.
