As some of you know Stampin' Up! now offers clear mount stamps as well as the traditional wood mount stamps. One trick I've leaned with assembling the stickers on the clear mount stamps is to trim right up to the image before sticking onto the foam. For example this first picture shows the label sticker from the Friends stamp in full size, ready to be placed on the die cut stamp of the same size.
The second picture shows the same Friends label sticker after I've trimmed away any excess with my paper trimmers. I've trimmed up nice and close to the image leaving a small border around the black.
In the third picture I've placed the label sticker on the back of the stamp and now its ready to be used with a clear mount block. The label side of the stamp is the part that clings to the clear block.
So why have we trimmed the label????If you look closely at the picture you can see how much of the foam is showing around the label. I find the foam clings to the clear mount block better than the cling on the sticker (but I still want the sticker label there so I know what image I'm using), by removing some of the sticker more of the foam is available to stick to the block. Now we just press the label side of the stamp to the clear block for a few seconds and ink it up and stamp away!
